Registration/Sign-ups for HS (varsity and JV) fall sports begins Saturday, July 20th 

Registration for HS fall sports ENDS Wednesday, August 7th
All forms (physical, medication forms) are due to the HS nurses office by Monday, August 12th
If your child requires a physical in order to participate in a fall sport and you would like to use the schools physician, please call Rita Driscoll at 669-5414, ext. 2017, by Friday, May 31st, for a June appointment.  Please Note:  A physical dated from August 1, 2018 on is acceptable for all varsity and JV fall sports

Sign Up for your secure FamilyID account by entering the account owner First and Last names (parent/guardian),      E-mail address and password. Select the agreement to the FamilyID Terms of Service. Click Sign Up.
You will receive an email with a link to activate your new account. (If you don’t see the email, check your email filters (spam, junk, etc.).
Click on the link in your activation E-mail, which will log you in to FamilyID.com
Once in the registration form, complete the information requested. All fields with a red* are required to have an answer.
Registration is limited to one sport per season only.
Click the Save &amp; Continue button when your form is complete.
Review your registration summary.
10.  Click the green Submit button. After selecting ‘Submit’, the registration will be complete. You will receive a completion email from FamilyID confirming your registration. 
11.  Please note, registering your child does not mean they are medically cleared to participate in a sport.  You will receive email notification from Family ID via Rita Driscoll, school nurse, informing you as to whether or not your child is medically cleared to participate.

   <description>All varsity and JV winter sports will begin on Monday, November 9, 2015:  Interval Health History forms and physicals must be submitted to the school nurse by Monday, November 2nd.  Failure to meet this deadline will result in the student-athlete not being allowed to participate for the first two days of try-outs.  Physicals and Interval Health History forms will not be accepted after Tuesday, November 10th.
Modified ice hockey will begin on Monday, November 23rd:  Interval Health History forms and physicals must be submitted to the school nurse by Monday, November 16th, for all modified winter sports. Failure to meet this deadline will result in the student-athlete not being allowed to participate for the first two days of try-outs.  Physicals and Interval Health History forms will not be accepted after Tuesday, November 24th.
All other modified winter sports will begin on Monday, November 30, 2015:  Interval Health History forms and physicals must be submitted to the school nurse by Monday, November 16th, for all modified winter sports. Failure to meet this deadline will result in the student-athlete not being allowed to participate for the first two days of try-outs.  Physicals and Interval Health History forms will not be accepted after Tuesday, December 1st, for all modified sports (not including ice hockey).
 
Please Note:
Interval Health History forms must be completed no more than 30 days prior to the start of practice.  All forms can be downloaded from the North Salem web site; click on forms on the main page.
 Students participating in sports shared with other schools must follow the North Salem guidelines for participation, including deadlines, regardless of the deadlines of partner schools.</description>

   <description>Winter sports sign-up’s will be held from Monday, October 5th through Friday, October 9th, for all students in grades 7-12.  The following sports are being offered: 
Varsity, JV and Modified Boys Basketball
Varsity, JV and Modified Girls Basketball
Varsity Boys and Girls Bowling
Varsity and Modified Ice Hockey (at Somers HS)
Varsity Boys and Girls Alpine Ski
Varsity Boys and Girls Indoor Track
Varsity and Modified Wrestling (at John Jay Cross River HS)
Varsity Boys Swim (at JohnJayCrossRiver HS)
 
If you are interested in participating in a winter sport, please sign up in the Athletic office located in room W34.   
A reminder to 7th and 8th grade parents, there is a new State policy which permits physically and emotionally appropriate students in grades 7 and 8 to try out for an athletic team that is outside of their grade placement, it is called Athletic Placement Process.  If you are interested in finding out more about it, please call Henry Sassone at 914-669-5414, ext. 2039, before your son or daughter signs up for a winter sport.  You can read more about this program on the athletic web page under Athletic Placement Process, left side of the page.</description>

Interval Health History forms for varsity and JV sports cannot be accepted before  July 19th.
 
Modified fall sports begin on Tuesday, September 8, 2015.
Physicals and Interval Health History forms must be submitted to the school nurse by Monday, August 31st.   Failure to meet this deadline will result in the student-athlete not being allowed to participate for the first two days of try-out’s.  Physicals and Interval Health History forms will not be accepted after 3:00pm, Wednesday, September 9th.   Failure to meet this deadline will result in the student-athlete not being allowed to participate for the season.
Intervl Health History forms for modified sports cannot be accepted before      August 9th.  Please be advised, the Interval Health History form will be available on the web in mid-July but cannot be accepted before August 9th.
 
The purpose of the Interval Health History is to ensure that any health problems occurring since the last physical are identified and considered. All forms can be downloaded from the North Salemweb site; click on forms on the main page.  
 
Please be advised, the Interval Health History form will be not be available on the web before July 17th.

Schedule a sports physical with your child’s primary care physician

 
Please note:  If you are unable to meet the deadlines because your insurance carrier limits your ability to schedule a physical within one calendar year, please be sure to schedule a sports physical with our school physician.
 
If you would like to have your child’s sports physical completed by our school physician, Dr. Elliot Barsh, free of charge on Tuesday, February 24th, please email Laura Chamberlain at lchamberlain@northsalemschools.org  to schedule an appointment.  Please be aware, if we have a delayed opening on February 24th due to weather, physicals will still be held.  Appointments must be made by Wednesday, February 11th.</description>

   <description>The fall 2014 North Salem varsity and JV athletic team try-out’s/practices will begin on Monday, August 18th.  Athletes are expected to report to practice on the first day.  The start date is two weeks prior to the first day of school.  Therefore, to accommodate family vacations, athletes must report to practice no later than Thursday, August 21st, to be eligible to try out and participate on the team.  If vacations are scheduled for the second week of the pre-season, an athlete may not miss more than three practices to be eligible for participation on their respective team.  Athletic contests have been scheduled as early as September 2nd by Section One.

Please note:  If you are unable to meet the deadlines because your insurance carrier limits your ability to schedule a physical within one calendar year, please be sure to schedule a sports physical with our school physician.
If you would like to have your child’s sports physical completed by our school physician, Dr. Elliot Barsh, free of charge on Tuesday, February 25th, please email Laura Chamberlain at lchamberlain@northsalemschools.org  to schedule an appointment.  Please be aware, if we have a delayed opening on February 25th due to weather, physicals will still be held.  Appointments must be made by Friday, February 14th.</description>

   <title>NS Booster Club Basketball Tour. 1/9-1/11/14</title>

   <description>The North Salem Booster Club Basketball Tournament honoring Tom Silvestro, Sr. will be held January 9th, 10th and 11th.  The dedication ceremony will take place Friday, January 10th, 7:00pm, prior to the boys North Salem/Pawling basketball game.  
Tom served in the North Salem School District in many capacities.  He was the varsity golf coach for 14 years, score keeper for boys and girls basketball games for 5 years, and a member of the North Salem Booster Club for 15 years.  Tom served as Booster Club President and he help spearhead the Tompkins Field track project.  Tom also served as a boys basketball official for over 30 years.  
It is with great pride and pleasure that we dedicate this tournament in honor of Tom Silvestro, Sr.</description>

We are requiring attendance at this event for each athlete and his or her parent.  In this way coaches, parents and students are guaranteed the opportunity to meet and discuss the expectations and responsibilities ofNorth Salemathletes.
We will gather at 6:00 pm in the auditorium for the opening program.  Immediately following the program, you and your youngster will then meet with your athlete’s coach.  Parents of our swimmers will meet their coach at the fall athletic open house held atJohnJayHigh School, time and date to be announced.

   <description>Please join us in congratulating Alex Monaco, Cullin Burdett, and Noemie Bechu who will be competing for a State Championship at Cornell University during the weekend of March 2nd.  This marks the first time in North Salem&#039;s school history that the track and field program will send competitors from both the boys&#039; and girls&#039; teams to the Indoor State Championship meet.
 
 
Noemie Bechu qualified for the intersectional relay breaking her own school record for the 6th by running a personal best of 41.08.  Cullin Burdett ran a personal record in the indoor mile with a time of 4:26.  Alex Monaco won the Section 1 Championship with a school record jump of 21&#039;2.25</description>

   <title>Spring Start Dates and Due Dates</title>

   <description>Varsity/JV:  Try-out’s will begin on Monday, March 11, 2013
Due Dates:  Interval Health History forms and physicals must be submitted to the school nurse by Monday, March 4th.  Failure to meet this deadline will result in the student-athlete not being allowed to participate for the first two days of try-out’s.  Physicals and Interval Health History forms will not be accepted after 3:00 pm on Tuesday, March 12th.
Due to New York State regulations, Interval Health History forms cannot be accepted before February 12, 2013. 

Modified:  Try-out’s will begin on Wednesday, March 20, 2013

 Physical Info:  There are two ways you can acquire a sports physical:

Schedule a sports physical with the school physician
Schedule a sports physical with your child’s primary care physician

 
Please note:  If you are unable to meet the deadlines because your insurance carrier limits your ability to schedule a physical within one calendar year, please be sure to schedule a sports physical with our school physician.
 
If you would like to have your child’s sports physical completed by our school physician, Dr. Elliot Barsh, free of charge on Tuesday, February 26th, please email Laura Chamberlain at lchamberlain@northsalemschools.org  to schedule an appointment.  Appointments must be made by Friday, February 22nd.
